The second meeting of the Abkhaz-Crimean Intergovernmental Commission was held in Simferopol
The parties heard information on implementation of Action Plan for Development of Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation between Abkhazia and Crimea for 2019-2021 and checked the number of measures taken.

Sukhum. December 13. Apsnypress. There was held the Second meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Crimea in Simferopol, in which members of the Abkhaz and Crimean parts of the Joint Commission, as well as invited employees of ministries and departments of the two countries, took part. 
 
 Opening the meeting, Chairman of Crimean part of Commission, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov noted: “Friendship relations have been connecting Crimea and Abkhazia for at least 2.5 thousand years. For us, Abkhazia is a sunny, kind, welcoming republic. We cooperate in the economic, social, cultural spheres. We are pleased that a serious contractual legal framework exists between us. After the return of Crimea to their homeland, the relations between our republic and Abkhazia became stronger and more systematic. ”
 
 For his part, Chairman of the Abkhaz part of the commission, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Daur Arshba said: “Before we start discussing the results of the work done in 2019 to implement the action plan, I would like to note the set pace of interaction in implementation of the plan, which we approved at the first meeting in November 2018 in Sukhum. We have already noted that a fairly solid regulatory framework has been created on which our travel plan is based on. Naturally, in the process of today's work, changes and additions can be made to this plan, because the process is constantly developing. Over the past period, we have identified where we have certain omissions, shortcomings in work. At the same time, new opportunities have opened up for us during this time, new directions have been outlined in various sectors. We intend to work on all this in the framework of the upcoming meeting today. ”  

  The meeting participants agreed and approved the agenda of the second meeting of the Commission, the rules of work and the composition of the working groups.
 
 The parties heard information on implementation of the Action Plan for Development of Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Crimea for 2019-2021 and checked the number of activities carried out.
 
 Summing up the work done during the year, the meeting participants noted the importance of the agreement concluded between the chambers of commerce of Abkhazia and Crimea, and the agreement on establishment of the Crimean-Abkhazian Business Council for development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, the work of which will contribute to development of mutually beneficial cooperation between business representatives circles of the parties and the establishment of new areas of cooperation.
 
 The parties also discussed issues of assistance in increasing the volume of bilateral supplies: from the Republic of Crimea to the Republic of Abkhazia - agricultural products and food, as well as industrial goods, ships for various purposes; from the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Crimea - soybeans, tropical fruits, including citrus crops, competitive building materials (gravel) from producers of the Republic of Abkhazia.  

  With regard to the agricultural sector, the parties expressed their readiness to continue organizing the exchange of experience between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Crimea on the cultivation and processing of essential oil raw materials, Crimean walnut seedling seedlings, as well as on the exchange of information in the field of aquatic and mariculture.  

  The Abkhaz side expressed interest in training students from the Republic of Abkhazia in areas of agricultural specialties in KFU of V. I. Vernadsky.
 
 In the field of culture and cultural heritage, the parties supported the desire to continue developing joint projects, including assisting in the organization of exchange tours of theaters, professional creative and amateur folk art groups, and other cultural events based on direct links between cultural and art institutions and organizations.  

  At the end of the meeting, the parties signed the protocol of the second meeting of Joint Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Crimea.
 
 In addition, President of the Union “Crimean Chamber of Commerce and Industry” Artyom Maltsev and President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Tamila Mertskhulava signed the Protocol on establishment of the Crimean-Abkhazian Business Council. Artyom Maltsev and Tamila Mertskhulava elected as Co-Chairs of the Council.
