Kove: the actions of the Georgian leadership adversely affect the continuation of the Geneva discussions
The co-chairs of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia discussed the next 45 round of talks.

Sukhum. 20 September. Apsnypress. The co-chairs of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia discussed the upcoming 45th round of talks in October.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, Daur Kove welcomed the co-chairs and new participants of the Geneva discussions - the representative of the United Nations at the international Geneva discussions Cihan Sultanoglu and the OSCE Special Representative for the South Caucasus Rudolf Michalka. "I hope your rich and professional experience will enable us to move forward in our discussions and come to more meaningful results," - said Kove.

At the same time, Daur Kove stressed: "I would like to draw your attention to the next actions on the part of the Georgian leadership, which negatively affect the continuation and implementation of the Geneva discussions. We are concerned how the Georgian side is currently trying to promote and implement the process associated with the so-called Otkozoriya-Tatunashvili case. To our great regret, we see that Georgia is putting forward some of its political ambitions, sacrificing the possibility of further holding the negotiation process in the framework of the Geneva discussions. You know that the Georgian side included specific names in the list of Otkhozoriya-Tatunashvili, because of what we were forced to technically suspend the last round of the IPRM, which takes place in Gal. We were eyewitnesses of the fact that the Georgian side initiated the announcement of two citizens of the Republic of South Ossetiaon on the wanted list of Interpol. This led to the fact that the recent meeting in Ergneti was also suspended in the framework of the IPRM. In this regard, we would like to ask you once again to inform the Georgian side about the perniciousness of such moments connected to provocative actions, because the implementation of this project will bring nothing positive . "

For his part, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Claar noted that the Geneva discussions and the format of the IPRM are of great importance for the European Union, the UN and OSCE, and they are also important for the participants in the Geneva discussions. "It is in our common interest to do everything possible to ensure that the Geneva discussions and the IPRM function in the best way. Today we have very important discussions to think about how to move the process forward in the interests of all the participants, " - said Claar.

Cihan Sultanoglu recalled that the UN Secretary-General called on all participants to use a constructive approach to get the best results of the Geneva discussions. "Our position is to encourage participants to use a pragmatic approach, to interact openly in all matters relating to the work of the Geneva discussions. I came here to listen to you, and all the suggestions from the participants and to jointly think how to breathe new life into the Geneva discussions and draw from them a tangible result. I hope that together we will be able to make progress, " - said Cihan Sultanoglu.

Rudolf Michachka assured that the OSCE pays special attention to the Abkhaz-Georgian conflict and its solution. "Our mandate in the framework of the Geneva discussions and the IPRM is not only in the function of co-moderators. We have certain ambitions regarding the proposal of concrete solutions to participants and we will introduce them to you, "- said Michalka.
