Election of the President of Abkhazia will be held on August 25
Relevant bills were adopted by parliamentarians.

Sukhum. May 28. Apsnypress. Deputies reviewed a package of documents on the legislative regulation of the terms of the presidential election at the session of the National Assembly of Parliament of Abkhazia.
 
 So, there was discussed draft Resolution “On the draft constitutional law of the Republic of Abkhazia“ On introducing amendments to the Constitutional law of the Republic of Abkhazia “On the election of President of the Republic of Abkhazia”. 25 out of 29 deputies voted for its adoption, with 4 votes against.
 
 In addition, the Permanent Representative of President in the Parliament Dmitry Shamba presented the draft Resolution of the National Assembly of Parliament “On the appointment of election of President of the Republic of Abkhazia”. According to the document, the election of President of Abkhazia was proposed to be postponed from July 21 to August 25.
 
 As Dmitry Shamba explained: “The draft constitutional law is submitted by President and provides for a change in the deadlines for holding the presidential election. According to the current edition of the Constitutional Law, it is stipulated that the elections are held no earlier than 3 months and no later than 2 months before the expiration of the terms of President's office. The new edition, in part 1, article 6, provides that the election of President can be held no later than 1 month before the expiration of the terms of office. The term of office of the current President expires on September 25, 2019, and the extreme date of the elections is August 25, 2019. ”
 
 According to the results of voting, out of 28 deputies, 24 voted in favor and 4 - “against”, the bill was passed.
 
 The election of President of Abkhazia will take place on August 25, 2019.
