Deputies of the Parliament of Abkhazia addressed
The parliamentarians called on all social forces to refrain from statements and actions that could lead to situation aggravation in the country.

Sukhum. September 13. Apsnypress. Deputies of the National Assembly of Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia addressed to political organizations of the country in connection with the past election of President.

The appeal of parliamentarians, in particular, states:

“On September 9, 2019, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Abkhazia announced the official results of the re-election of President of the Republic of Abkhazia. Its decision states that on the basis of Article 19 of the Constitutional Law “On the Election of President of the Republic of Abkhazia”, consider Raul Dzhumkovich Khadzhimba as the elected President of the Republic of Abkhazia and Aslan Chachurbeyevich Bartsits as the elected Vice-President of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The elections were held in a calm atmosphere, in full accordance with the election legislation of the Republic of Abkhazia and existing international standards, which was emphasized in the statements of foreign observers who participated in monitoring the preparation and conduct of the elections, both on August 25 and September 8, 2019. Their speeches noted the commitment of the people of our country to building a sovereign and independent democratic state based on free elections and the rule of law.

The Central Election Commission did not record any violations during the election process, which was also confirmed by observers from presidential candidates.

Before the start of the second round of elections, presidential candidates Alkhas Alekseevich Kvitsiniya and Raul Dzhumkovich Khadzhimba offered the CEC the same vision of the provisions of Article 19 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Abkhazia “On the election of President of the Republic of Abkhazia”. Members of the Central Election Commission also had a similar understanding of this article. Based on the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Abkhazia “On the Election of President of the Republic of Abkhazia”, the CEC determined the procedure for counting votes, which was published in a timely manner.

But, subsequently, the election results did not satisfy the presidential candidate of the Republic of Abkhazia Alkhas Kvitsiniya and his supporters from socio-political organizations, who said they would challenge the election results in court.

Along with this, a number of opposition forces began to make statements and calls that destabilize the political situation in the country.

Deputies of the National Assembly of Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia express serious concern about the emerging political tensions and call on all public forces to refrain from expressing themselves and actions that could lead to an aggravation of the situation.

In this regard, we appeal to the people of the Republic of Abkhazia to show wisdom, endurance, patience and respect for the benefit of further progressive development of our state. ”
