Daur Kove held consultations with the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Daur Kove met with the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions.

Sukhum. May 25. Apsnypress. RA Foreign Minister Daur Kove discussed with the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions the agenda of the 44th round of the Geneva discussions on Security and Stability in the Caucasus.

Daur Kove noted that such a meeting is a traditional consultation before the next round of the Geneva discussions.

Minister thanked the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions for cooperation: "We received a proposal to make certain proposals for the work of the format of international Geneva discussions, and we will send a response in which we will outline our vision of the situation. For your part, this is a very productive step. I would like to invite you to think about working out the rules of work at the Geneva discussions. I think this will have a very fruitful impact on further work. "

For his part, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Claar, confirmed that the co-chairs addressed the participants in the Geneva discussions with a proposal to present ideas and proposals on how to use the Geneva discussions in a more productive direction: "We reflected some of our thoughts on the work of the Geneva discussions in the questionnaire that was sent to you. In the end, we expect to study the vision of the situation of all participants. "

The co-chairman of the Geneva discussions from the OSCE, Gunther Behler, said that this was his last visit to the region as co-chair of the Geneva discussions. "In this regard, I sincerely hope that in the next round we will be able to make progress. The Geneva discussions resemble a bicycle on which you need to keep a certain minimum speed, otherwise there is a risk of crashing. In March, we had a complete stop, and we need to resume traffic, " - Bekhler said.

The senior political adviser to the UN special representative at the Geneva discussions Hilu Mamo expressed his hope that constructive interaction in the name of peace will continue. "I want to express my gratitude for the fact that you accepted the proposal of the co-chairs and expressed their readiness to cooperate. This will help us make the Geneva format more dynamic. I accept your proposals for amending the rules of the Geneva discussions. We have a set of rules, within which we have been working and interacting for the past 10 years. You are right when you say that 10 years later it was time to review the rules of work and interaction. For our part, we are ready to work on this and are waiting for concrete proposals from you, " - summed up Mamo.
